Located in the heart of the Cour des Petites Écuries, Red Sauce has established itself as one of the most popular dining spots in Paris right now. Right in the heart of the 10th arrondissement, this restaurant blends Italian and American influences in a setting inspired by New York diners.

Italian-American cuisine as comfort food

The concept is rooted in the tradition of “red-sauce joints,” those Italian-American restaurants that emerged in the United States with Italian immigration. The cuisine is hearty, convivial, and accessible, designed for sharing simple, comforting dishes.  This identity is evident throughout the menu, where tomato sauce plays a central role, whether in pastas, pizzas, or dishes meant for sharing.

The restaurant was conceived by Lucas Fauroux and Guillaume Nivet, inspired by their experiences in the United States. Their goal: to recreate the warm atmosphere of these Italian-American trattorias with a Parisian twist. The result: a restaurant with a retro vibe, featuring red booths, an open kitchen, and neon lights, reminiscent of New York’s Italian diners.

On the culinary side, the restaurant offers sourdough pizzas, hearty pasta dishes, and recipes designed for sharing. The menu emphasizes playful, unpretentious cuisine, blending seasonal ingredients with Italian and American influences. Among the signature dishes are thick Detroit-style pizzas, spicy spaghetti all’assassina, and meatballs served with tomato sauce and ricotta.

For lunch or dinner, the friendly atmosphere is evident between the small terrace overlooking the pedestrian courtyard and the various dining rooms. The restaurant has quickly become popular on social media, attracting a clientele eager to discover this reimagined Italian-American cuisine.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Red Sauce is part of the new wave of restaurants inspired by New York culinary culture. A welcoming and generous spot offering an original alternative to classic trattorias, just a stone’s throw from Strasbourg-Saint-Denis
