After all the talk on here of Au Bon Climat, I decided to bite the bullet, drive 6 hours, and try a bunch of their wines. Everything was fantastic, as expected. Thank you to this sub for the hype!!

Argh I wanna visit too. May I ask what happened during the visit? What pours did you get?

Did you go to SB or all the way up to SM?

I used to live in Carp and be a member there, this makes me sad and happy. I hope you have a great time! I’ll be buying more ABC soon, we drank our last one the other week and it was so good.

Great wines and great winery. A couple years ago I helped do a pig roast for their 20th anniversary and spent 24 hours at the winery, they left the crew some really nice library wines to get through the night. It was fun to wander around the barrel room at 4am after enjoying a 1999 Chard and 2000 Pinot.

My wife and I got to meet Isabelle, she came to do a tasting event at a local restaurant and was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She also brought some bangers with her, I think the 2005 Hildegard and the 2003 Isabelle Morgan. I couldn’t believe how well the Hildegard was showing for a white that age. ABC was my gateway wine to Central Coast which now is by far my favorite region for Pinot.

I’m old enough that I met Jim Clendenen at a wine event back in the early 2000’s. He was my idol and it was an honor to meet him.

Yeeees!!! Glad you enjoyed the wines! They’re so fantastic and great value for the quality, relative to the rest of California
