I like the simplicity of my old sous vide. I preseason my meat and vacuum seal it and when I get home I’d toss in something from the freezer and watch a movie while my food is cooking. The new Joule doesn’t have the option to cook from frozen and you have to measure the thickness and weigh it which is annoying. I wish they still made the original one.

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

I’m not familiar with the differences, but I just got my joule several weeks ago and I’ve cooked quite a few things from frozen. And the app asks me to select whether it’s frozen or fresh 🤷🏻♂️
My wife has something similar in her bedside drawer. I didn’t realise she was also into sousvide!
