Bean / pea weevil eats the margins of lower leaves. But sowing in modules enables pea transplants to grow away from the damage.
Catch crops of radish and turnips are one of the plant combinations I explain in my new book, Grow Together.

Oh no Mr Charles 😯 best poke more seed in quickly just in case.
Woodlice are our nemesis this spring! (It’s usually slugs and birds). Then I remembered the freshly sliced potato trick. Had plenty of spare home seed potatoes and dotted them about to lure and catch the ravenous woodlice hiding beneath. Remember to replace each time you remove the woodlice covered slices.
Thank you, i will try the turnips and radishes between my.potato plants this year
Last fall, for the first time, I used agricultural fleece over winter lettuces, and kept using them this spring for transplants – I am amazed how much so little fabric has helped. I mean, agricultural fabric is not exactly revolutionary and I had access to it before I started watching this channel, but Charles' approach encouraged me to actually start using it – and it works so well! (I also started putting out seedlings into the unheated greenhouse as soon as they sprout, covering with fleece when frost comes; I have had no losses at all so far. I am able to grow so much more this way, because previously I grew at home only and I don't have that many south-facing windows)
Oh no!
I hope they make it.
Have I missed the time to sow spinach?! I was planning on sowing them outside, with the next new moon, on the 14th April. Will that work?
Yes i get this on my plot but not at home i like 2 put plants in small but they are better at least 3in tall as they weevil tend to not bother the slightly higher leaves
Charles, arent you concerned about toxoplasmosis risk from growing edibles with cats roaming through the beds?
I tried peas and beans between my potatoes last season. The climbing beans did not to well. Peas were great on the boarder and the broad beans did well in the middle of the potatoes with some fencing.
The comparisons of no dig are always interesting. Have you ever had that pea weevil damage before? Thank you 😊
Wood Mulch in zone 6B in Ohio will bring and create so many Slugs that it's almost one of the worst garden decisions I've ever made.
If you use Wood Mulch, go outside an hour after sunset on a warm evening with an LED flashlight and you'll be Shocked at their numbers.
Could you give me an advice. I use your smallest module seed tray for peas, 2 pieces in one cell, but I still have the same result: 3/4 pieces are soft as poridge, definitely not growing anymore. Why this always happens?
I forgot, what do his solar panels power? Not the whole house?
I learned very early on to plant out most things when they're about 6" tall, small seedlings just die for various reasons where I live if not big enough.
