Plant in Asheville is hands down our favorite restaurant; it's all vegan. We try to go at least once a year, and, while it's not cheap, it's always worth it, and it's the only vegan restaurant I know of where meat-eaters rave about the food. We were supposed to go in late January for my wife's birthday dinner, but a snowstorm prevented us from making the trip, so we went last weekend. Even though we postponed our reservation by a couple of months, they surprised us with the cake in the final photo.

1 = tofu picatta over a cauliflower and potato puree with roasted oyster mushrooms

2 = pesto ravioli (my favorite plate of the evening but I don't remember the specifics of the dish)

3 = lion steak tostadas

4 = cheese plate

5 = chocolate cake

    I’m so happy to hear they are still open! I’ve been there a couple of times but it’s been years and years!

    This looks insanely good! I wish my locale had food like this. If I ever get to Asheville I’ll try to remember to stop in!

    If you’re in central NC, may I humbly also suggest a visit to my favorite vegan restaurant in the Bay-Area, transplanted to Charlotte,
    Sanctuary Bistro!! https://yelp.to/JvU05CPoNV

    I have been to many vegan restaurants in CA, OR, NYC, Canada, and many along the east coast and even in Europe. Plant is hands down my favorite. The entire experience has always been great. Many dishes I have had there inspire my own home cooking.
