While it’s never really been an issue, my kettle never seals particularly well. Since I was bored and wanted a fun little project, picked up this gasket cheap on Amazon. Works amazingly, barely any leaks now. Would definitely recommend.

Did you install it inside the cover or the kettle?

I picked up a Hunsaker extension rotisserie ring for my 26. I’m going to do this asap!

I’ve been thinking about ordering one of these but can I ask – what’s the problem with a little leakage? I use my kettle as a smoker all the time, and sure it leaks through the lid at the rim. But is that really negatively impacting my cooking at all?

I can see if you think that small amount of airflow makes temperature control more difficult, but I don’t have issues with controlling the temp as is even with leakage.

I just can’t see how a perfectly sealed kettle vs a leaky kettle will make me cook better food I guess?
