LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Las Vegas police have arrested an additional suspect in connection with an explosion outside Piero’s Italian Cuisine that investigators say involved an explosive device left at the restaurant’s front door.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said detectives arrested 52-year-old Robert Schwieger on Wednesday, and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on charges of conspiracy to commit arson, first-degree arson and use of explosive to damage or destroy property.
The investigation stems from an incident reported to LVMPD Communications on Nov. 13, 2025.
Police said they received a report at about 10:36 a.m. of an explosion that had occurred earlier that day at about 2:19 a.m. in front of Piero’s Italian Cuisine in the 300 block of Convention Center Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road.
Investigators determined that two males arrived at the business, one on foot and one on a scooter. Police said one suspect approached the business with a package, placed it in front of the door and appeared to light a fuse before both suspects fled. A few minutes later, the package exploded.
