ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Gemelli Italian Eatery, an Italian American food restaurant, is hosting the grand opening of its new location in historic Biltmore Village on Friday, April 17.

The restaurant moved from the Westgate Shopping Center to 28 Hendersonville Road in Biltmore Village. At Gemelli’s new location, the new owners report that the building’s entire first floor was destroyed by Helene in 2024 and has been fully restored by Falcon Construction.

Gemelli’s new location was previously occupied by Andaaz Indian eatery, Rezzaz restaurant and Biltmore Hardware.

Gemelli was created in 2022 by Asheville restaurateur and Chef Anthony Cerrato, who also owns Strada Italiano and Social Lounge in downtown Asheville.

“Having this open now kind of opens up the Village, is what I’m being told from everybody, because it’s a gateway into Biltmore Village, into downtown [Asheville],” Cerrato said.

According to a news release on the grand opening, the restaurant’s namesake is an ode to Cerrato’s twin daughters and to his wife, who is a Gemini. The kitchen is helmed by his son, Executive Chef Gabe Cerrato.
