i normally meal prep or cook stuff from scratch these days, but today i feel like shit bc of strep throat, so I pulled out those simply chicken or whatever they’re called from costco and stuck em in the air fryer and they were so good and filling with some homemade cane’s sauce and only 530 cal with some extra fruit and veg for balance! i also love my little sauce dish that i got at daiso, it’s perfect for holding 2 tbsp/1 oz of sauce.

it made me want to look back at my old saved meals and see how many cal were in my cane’s usual (box combo with extra fries instead of coleslaw, an extra sauce, and a diet coke). turns out it was 1556 cal for that !! and i’d get it all the time and eat it all in one sitting in front of the tv no problem—regularly!! i’ve gotten it 3-4 times over the past 5 months that i’ve lost 30lb (53lb total from my highest weight), but I can rarely ever finish it anymore. these days it’s almost my entire calorie budget (1800) which is just crazy to reflect upon, that i’d sometimes eat like that multiple times a week.
