The trattoria is located in an ancient building dating back to the 14th century, a place where time seems to have stood still. Amid stone-paved alleys, fortified walls, and unique panoramic views, the restaurant offers an intimate and charming atmosphere. The highlight is the historic wine cellar, a fascinating space that transports guests straight back to the Middle Ages, perfect for wine tastings and special occasions. Since 2024, management has been entrusted to Ruggiero, who has infused the restaurant with new energy while keeping its soul intact: home-style, authentic cuisine deeply rooted in the local territory.
The culinary offerings at Antica Trattoria Il Guerrino take you on a journey through the most authentic flavors of Tuscany, featuring carefully selected ingredients and artisanal preparation. Among the must-try dishes: platters of high-quality local cured meats and cheeses, the traditional pappa al pomodoro, fresh handmade pasta made with premium flours and eggs from free-range hens, and the famous peposo, slowly braised in Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG. Every dish is enhanced by extra virgin olive oil produced directly from the restaurant’s olive grove, a pure expression of the region.

The star of the menu is grilled meat: the Bistecca alla Fiorentina and the tagliata are carefully selected and cooked over an oak wood fire, which imparts an intense and unmistakable aroma. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options and dishes suitable for guests with celiac disease, making it a versatile choice for every need.
Il Guerrino is also a small family-run winery. The wines are produced with respect for the environment, using hand-harvested and carefully selected grapes. The tasting (€25 per person) includes: 4 red wines from the estate, 1 white wine, tomato bruschetta and taralli, and a presentation on the company’s history. Among the wines available for tasting: Chianti Classico DOCG, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, Supertuscan IGT Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Supertuscan IGT 100% Sangiovese, IGT Sangiovese Cabernet and Merlot, and a Bianco Toscano IGT (50% Vermentino/50% Chardonnay).
