Following a thoughtful renovation, CBD Provisions opens with a renewed vision, honoring Texas ingredients while applying the discipline and refinement of French culinary tradition.

After nearly 13 years on Main Street in downtown Dallas, CBD Provisions officially reopens at The Joule Hotel after a months-long design update, unveiling a reimagined approach to Texas cuisine in the central business district. Under the direction of Culinary Director Sezer Deniz, the restaurant highlights locally sourced ingredients through a menu elevated with the refinement of French technique.

“CBD Provisions has long been about honoring local ingredients and our community,” says Chef Sezer Deniz. “With this reopening, we’ve refined that vision, creating a dining experience that is both familiar and fresh.”

Drawing on his experience at Michelin-starred restaurants, including Alinea in Chicago, and his training under Chef Jean Paul Naquin of the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France, Chef Sezer Deniz brings a creative vision to the restaurant.

THE MENU

Building on its history, CBD Provisions presents a menu that reimagines its classic dishes and introduces new creations. Fan favorites like the Pimento Cheese Toast and Pig’s Head Carnitas return, alongside new offerings that combine comfort and sophistication.

Among the new signature dishes is the Ancho Beef Bourguignon, a classic French dish reimagined with a Texas twist. The dish features slow-braised Texas beef in a red wine reduction with ancho chili, pearl onions, carrots, wild mushrooms, and horseradish spaetzle. Another standout is the Asado Short Rib, with three barbecue-glazed ribs, housemade bread and butter pickled vegetables, sweet potato mousse, and a crisp pecan topping. Daily fresh-baked breads, including buns and sourdough from Commissary, complement the menu.

The beverage program mirrors the kitchen’s spirit, highlighting small producers and regional makers. Guests can enjoy wines from Texas, California, and France, craft beers from Dallas–Fort Worth brewers, and cocktails inspired by classics with modern twists.

THE DESIGN

The interior, designed by Swoon, the Studio, with architectural services by Wallace Johnson, draws on exposed brick, wood floors, and steel beams to blend classic brasserie influences with gracious Texas spirit.

The design preserves the soul of the space while softening its industrial roots with refined millwork paneling, vintage lighting fixtures, and custom mosaic tile floors. Stone tabletops and antique mirrors add warmth, while layered textiles in seating and drapery create an atmosphere of comfort and ease. New communal high-top tables, a center banquette and railcar booths create intimacy, while the airy bar opens up the space. A new piece of photography by local artist Maxine Helfman, Torn Bag, 2013, acquired by Shop Swoon, anchors the new window banquette seating.

The design tells the story of a space that feels both lived-in and refined, inviting guests to gather for brisk lunches, bountiful dinners, and late-night cocktails, all served with the lively, polished hospitality that defines CBD Provisions.
