    Welcome aboard

Be careful, this subreddit is full of elitists that would put you downvotes and give you unhelpful comments. But sometimes you will encounter normal people.

    Enjoy this hobby!

Welcome! It’s such a fun hobby and can be painstaking but also provides a delicious reward! Like the other guy said, ignore any of the snobs who give you grief about your first machine (they spend thousands just to make basically the same thing).

Next on your list should be to check out a good local roaster! (If you have one nearby) – if not, check out some of the roasters online like Onyx coffee lab, Klatch coffee, etc. You want pretty freshly roasted beans (generally want them to be about 2-6 weeks post roasting). Once you switch from supermarket coffee to freshly roasted beans you’ll never go back! Also, I highly recommend getting a fun espresso/cap/cortado etc drink glass/cup that you enjoy. I think it is an underrated piece of gear that can elevate your morning. Also check out James Hoffman on YouTube. Enjoy!!!

Enjoy! I got the same machine like 6 months ago. Do yourself a favor and don’t grind on the finest setting… use 5 or a bit above 5. I didn’t know better and stupidly ground at 0 and it jammed the grinder 😂. Took me a while to make it work again.

  7. I had a very similar machine to this a while back. The grinder will be the first thing to break. You can get a separate grinder, that is a easy first step to start improving your espresso. The thermoblock brewing system can last a long, long time. That part is relatively simple, easy to clean, and not a lot of vital parts that break easily.

The grinder however, will break easily. Mine broke after a month of daily use. I kept using my machine with separate grinder for 3 years after that.

My the very first device was Chefman Barista Pro bought refurbished for $60 worked well for 3+ years then started getting air in the head group, priming and cleaning didn’t help, maybe bad gasket or pump, not sure so, I think I am not going to repair and will order the same Crema Supreme, looks promising and good price. Congrats!

I have the exact same machine! I’ve had it for almost two years now, I’m saving up for my end game.

I will say you can pull beautiful and tasty shots with this machine, you just have to figure out how to make it work for you.

My grinder setting stays between 13-17 depending on the beans and I’ll say this now, don’t trust the automated features. Get a scale immediately and make sure to manually stop your shots.

Also, theres mixed results online so I’ll clear this out now, it is 100% a standard 58.5 portafilter and with that, I highly recommend the following: WDT, puck screen, scale, and a self leveling tamper. Went the first year without those and every shot was different no matter how consistent I was..

Oh and always pull a blank shot first to heat everything up.

Hope this helps, feel free to message me about any questions on the machine and happy brewing!
