Pretty new but been pretty successful so far and been able to trouble shoot most goofs since starting plants from seed for the first time. I think my cheap mulch I used must have had billions of mushroom spores. Shoulda just used straw. I pulled the few that were there 2 days ago and probably just spread spores everywhere. Is this a huge problem? The tomatoes seem happy for the most part and have bounced back from transplant last week. Had a lot of rain this week so that extra moisture probably made it worse. Do I need to worry about these suckers? I imagine they are taking up nutrients so i may need to consider fertilizing again some time.
I should note they are only popping up in my raised bed that has more compost than my pots and grow bags that have potting mix.

Mushrooms are a sign of healthy soil.
Not a problem. Enjoy the extra decoration.
The fungus is what is processing the soil so your plants can gather what they need for food
You might want to keep an eye on the moisture levels in your soil.
Its not a problem unless you are trying to grow cacti
Your tomatoes are much too close together.
They aren’t taking up nutrients. They are decomposing the wood and making nutrients available. This is a good sign and means your soil is alive.
Mushrooms are great for your garden! Just don’t eat them!
Mushrooms are a huge compliment. You have an amazing soil ecosystem going on.
The mycelium beneath the soil is super beneficial for your plants.
The only thing I would consider is swapping the wood chip mulch for straw mulch.
Opposite of a problem, a great sign!
Inky caps. They come in every time when I’m loading nitrogen into straw bales prior to planting. Just a sign it is starting to decompose/compost. Not a problem at all
What’s the problem? 🙂
That’s not a problem – it’s a blessing!
