I am watching a youtube video about beaujolais. and from my understanding, their classification system is pretty straight forward.

1. on the bottom of the 3 tier pyramid we have Beaujolais

2. right above we have beaujolais village

3. highest tier is the beaujolais cru. which there are only 10 region within beaujolais that can use the Cru.

Looking at these 2 however, https://www.totalwine.com/wine/red-wine/gamay/jadot-beaujolais/p/2556750?s=1405&igrules=true

and

https://www.totalwine.com/wine/red-wine/gamay/jadot-beaujolais-villages/p/2555750?s=1405&igrules=true

the village line is cheaper priced than their beaujolais line. why is that? am i misunderstanding the beaujolais classification?

also, for their village line, i looked on their website and cant seem to find the vineyard difference that makes their beaujolais village a village compared to their simple beaujolais line.

i was wondering if someone can educate me on this subject?
