Serve this delicious spread on crispy wholemeal bread rolls or on a [flatbread](https://www.spicyasiafood.com/p/vegetarian-chickpea-sandwich-filling.html) with lettuce and tomatoes. Celery can be replaced with other chopped raw vegetables. Mayonnaise can be replaced with your favorite dressing.
## Ingredients
1 can (19 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1 stalk of celery, chopped
½ onion, chopped
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
salt and pepper to taste
## Directions
**Step 1**
Drain and rinse the chickpeas. Place chickpeas in a medium mixing bowl and mash with a fork. Mix celery, onion, mayonnaise (to taste), lemon juice, dill, salt and pepper to taste.
