Chicken Chili my wife made. It probably costs about $25 – 30 dollars to make and it lasts for a few days to a week.
Ingredients: 5 chicken breats. I like to cut the breasts into bite sized pieces, or you can shred after the breasts are finished cooking. Two Cans of Corn (15oz), One can of Black Beans (15oz), One can of Chickpeas (15oz), One can Rotel Tomatoes (15oz) two packets of ranch Seasoning, 1 Tablespoon Salt, One Tablespoon Pepper, one Tablespoon chili powder, one Tablespoon onion powder, one Tablespoon Cumin, One Tablespoon Dill, two 8oz blocks of cream cheese. One cup of chicken broth.
Rinse the corn, Black beans and chickpeas. Throw chicken in a slow cooker with all the other ingredients and cook on high for about 3 – 4 hours. Or low for 6 hours.

This looks like Dahl. I’m betting you could cut that price down by buying a whole chicken and carving it yourself. Saves me 30% on chicken. In addition you can use the bones to make chicken broth. Probably would save 10-15$ on the total.
I’ve found chili can be hit or miss on being budget friendly vs Indian dishes, rice bowls, or at least combining the chili with a potato or hotdog etc. not saying you don’t do that, just saying in my opinion.
