We did a little road trip in 2019 and spent a night in Andong. We stated at the Andong Gurume resort, a little walled village turned into a hotel, in a very nice traditional Korean house. For lunch, we hit up the city market downtown to find some Andong Jjimdak.

I normally don’t eat much chicken, and I previously had home made jjimdak and was very underwhelmed, but if a city is known for a dish, it’s probably very good. And this one absolutely did not disappoint. This was extremely delicious.

Also, the man at the resort thought we were absolutely crazy for driving from Andong to Sokcho in one day. He tried to convince us not to, saying it was way too far. He actually made us nervous and we double checked the directions… apparently the idea of a 3 hour drive was just extremely daunting to the small town country guy. Baaa-a-a-aaahh.
