Less than a few bucks for this recipe! Consider serving these as directed with brown gravy, or go fresher with adding them atop a salad.
**Ingredients**
* 1 small onion * 1/4 teaspoon powdered sage * Salt and pepper to taste * 1 egg * Breadcrumbs (or flour) **Directions**
1. Here’s the brown gravy recipe recommended to serve it with. (Basically a roux with a bit of sugar, water/stock, and something savory.) 2. Chop a small onion and fry in butter on the stovetop until softened and lightly browned. 3. Once the onions are cooled, mix in the spices, herbs, and well-beaten egg. Then, add in breadcrumbs or flour until the mixture holds together enough to form into patties. 4. Form the patties to the size you prefer and fry them in a mix of olive oil and butter you’ve heated in a large cast iron skillet on medium. 5. Cook on both sides for 2-3 minutes until browned and cooked through. Serve warm!
