I’m about to go away on holiday for a week so I’m not sure what to do with it. I definitely want to plant it but I don’t think it’s a good time. How should I store it so that it doesn’t rot or have the new growth die?

I forgot to mention I’m located in western Australia and it’s currently summer.

Ginger grows in the tropics so mimic that, moist soil and sun. I can see 3 possible 4 buds on that. Place flat on the surface of the soil and cover with 20mm of soil and then small, amount of mulch. Don’t overwater but keep moist. Place in sunny position. Sometimes it takes a while to get going but it’s virtually unkillable. Give it two years and you’ll have a good sized clump that u can use
