Okay so I am making some beef stew and started at 10 pm, will leave it till morning. I just saw some recipes saying I should’ added some red wine but I did not think about that…
Would it be okay to add now?
For ingredients I used:
>lean beef cuts (couldnt find fatty ones)
>duck fat
>butter
>onions
>garlic
>tomato paste
>mild pepper paste
>cherry tomatoes
>potatoes
>bay leaves
>frozen oxtail stock
>half of rich beef stock (knorr)
This was more of a “how i think itd go good” recipe so measurements were a bit of how I feel like.
Now, would it ruin the taste if I add wine now? I smelled it a bit and its amazing already. So may not be needed? Also I am thinking of adding peas or celery stick, what do you guys think? (I normally hate celery smell btw)

Yes you can totally add other ingredients if you want to. Like it’s going to be cooked in a slow cooker. So yes you can still add stuff to it.

Now red wine is a normal common ingredient in beef stews. So I don’t see it particularly going badly.

I am a bit disappointed rn. Just tasted it and poured some wine. It tastes okay.. but meat is near tender. However the soup is not “intense” its very light meaty taste with bay leaves so Ive put more insta broth. I hope it will be more hearty. I also added some steak seasoning and paprika. I may add add some dry thyme in last hour. I hope the flavor will be more intense. Its a bit plain rn as I did not even add salt to it in case itd add up too salty.

I’ll usually add peas and/or mushrooms late
