I made a spaghetti bolognese last night as a batch cook. It had olives, mushrooms, sweet peppers, fresh basil, onions, ground beef, chopped tomatoes and passata and cooked in my large crock pot for 6 hours and was lush!

Oh it also had fresh garlic. Basically I did what I always do. Chopped 4 onions and lots of
Mushrooms and laid them at the bottom with a little oil.

I then placed on top of that the ground beef as well as black pepper and then the chopped black olives.

On top of that I added the sweet peppers chopped and then got some fresh basil ( quite a big bunch as I love basil) and chopped that with scissors over the top and some fresh garlic.

Over that I then poured the passata and chopped tomatoes and a little more black pepper.

I then let it stay like that for about an hour before giving it a stir. It was on the highest crock pot heat.

I then returned every hour to give it a stir.

A little red wine added about 3 hours in to give it a little more liquidity as well as a little salt and black pepper.

5 hours in it was looking and tasting amazing. The smell was just so layered and desirable.

Hour 6 it was spooned onto some spaghetti with grated Parmesan added and garlic bread on the side.

The rest has been placed in Tupperware containers and frozen – about 6 tubs worth so 6 meals left of this – single guy you see but I love a batch cook so I can eat healthy.
