Hawai’i has a unique version of Korean food that has evolved over the generations, and one of my favorites is a Korean plate lunch with kalbi, bulgogi, chicken, mandoo, and meat jun with kimchi, beansprout, watercress, and garlic potato banchan 🤙🏾

So I didn’t know meat jun was a Hawaii Korean dish until I moved to the mainland and saw that no Korean restaurants carried it.
Meat Jun is either plain or marinated thinly sliced beef that is dredged in flour, then egg, and then pan fried.
The garlic potatoes are also another thing I haven’t seen outside of Hawaii. It is cubed pan fried potatoes with mayo and metric ton of garlic. I don’t know the exact recipe, but it is 🔥
Is this the reason my Korean homies from Oahu are huge? Ps Garlic potatoes are bomb 🤤
