* 2 cups Water * 1 tsp Ginger crushed * 3-4 Cloves * 6-8 Black pepper * 8-10 Basil (Tulsi) leaves * ½-1 tsp Honey * 1 Cinnamon stick * A pinch of turmeric
**Directions**
1. To begin with, add water to a pan and let it come to a boil. 2. In a mortar and pestle, crush ginger, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. 3. As soon as the water starts to boil, add the crushed ingredients to the pan, the tulsi leaves, and a pinch of turmeric. 4. On a medium flame, let the kadha boil for a while or until it is reduced to half. 5. Turn off the flame and add honey to the kadha and stir well. 6. Serve the hot kadha in the glass.
**Notes**
1. The kadha can be stored in a glass bottle for 3-4 days. 2. Drink ½ cup of kadha two to three times a day to get rid of a cold and cough. 3. For best results, drink the freshly prepared kadha. 4. You can also add mulethi (licorice).
