Adapted this bbq chilli recipe for my crockpot, see comments for details

    So I done the onions, chilli and garlic in a frying pan, added spices, tomato puree, then added brandy and burnt off the alcohol and once I was happy I chucked in the slow cooker with the tinned tomatoes.

    I then browned the meat I used 750g of steak mince, 750g of sausage meat and some chopped up smokey bacon, then chucked in the slow cooker with the other stuff

    Added the dark chocolate

    Then about an hour before serving added in the kidney beans

    I used 4 red chilli’s and 5 teaspoons of mild chilli powder and it had a nice spicy hit.

    Served with basmati rice, sour cream & coriander

    Cooked for about 4 hours on the higher heat setting then switched to the low setting until I served
