I was never a fan of some vegetables until I realized you could stir fry them and not just steam/boil the crap out of them like my parents did. Bonus, cabbage is extremely cheap where I live so this is a frugal meal too! Recipe (I don’t measure exactly when making the sauce):
– Add less than 1 tbsp of sesame seed oil to pan
– Add about 1 tbsp soy sauce and mirin
– Add garlic and ginger paste to taste (I use about a tbsp)
– Add sambal oelek (or cayenne powder) to taste (about 2 tsp for me)
– Heat in pan
– When hot, add chopped red and/or green cabbage (I used a 1/4 head of each)
– Cook to desired consistency (I like mine with some crunch)
– Garnish with whatever you like – I had some furikake on hand so I used that
Great to add over rice or as a side for any protein, or eaten by itself!
