Recipe: 1,5kg beef shoulder, 1kg onions, 1,5kg potatoes, beef broth, 2-3 bay leaves, pepper, salt
Cut the meat into pieces about 2.5 cm. Peel potatoes/onions, cut the onions into large pieces and the potatoes in thick slices. Put the meat in the pot and layer first the onions and then the potatoes on top. Salt all layers a little and pepper generously. Also add bay leaves. Top up with beef broth until just covered. Cook it on high for 4 hours. Then mash with a potato masher and season with pepper until very peppery.
Edit: Fry the meat briefly before cooking and deglaze the pan with broth.
