I just ate at a New Korean place in my town in Florida. I ate these things that have pork belly in it. Idk what it was or how they made the bread but I would love to try and replicate it at home. Any help would appreciated!

    I love those too but they’re not Korean… I think Chinese? They keep popping up in Asian fusion cafe style restaurants and I’m dying to know how to make them at home.

    They’re bao or bao buns. They are originally Chinese but there are Korean takes on them.

    We’ve this food truck here in the Bay Area, been around since the reimagination of food trucks that sells awesome gua bao similar to this, The Chairman Truck, which I’ll forever refer to as Chairman Bao.

  5. Buy it frozen in the grocery store. It’s better than making it. Put your energy into making the pork just so.

    It is Chinese bread -mantou. Very labor intensive and hard to make. Steaming them to get the texture right is tricky. I tried it once and gave up. Even Chinese mothers just by them frozen so I advise doing so. You’ll find them in an Asian grocery store and just steam them.
