Bento includes salmon rice balls with furikake, beef and asparagus stir fry, and curry croquettes. Side of apples and baby carrots.

I like rolling the rice balls and eating them like actual onigiri. However, when I made the bento for my husband, he mushed the rice ball and ate it like fried rice lol. Just curious as to what everyone prefers?

Shaped! Easier to eat plus the texture is more enjoyable when it’s molded

Variety is the spice of life, that said shaped is easier to share

Definitely shaped! I love making kyaraben in particular, so shaping the rice is a must.

nice balanced bento! I have trouble eating most shaped things (burgers buns, falafel) and tend to eat those with a fork anyway. Not used to the shapes. But for rice itself, I like to feel as many grains as possible in my mouth, so I do not prefer shaped rice for both those reasons
