Finally got around to trying it. Smoked meat sandwich at ‘SumiLicious’ in Scarborough


Had been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got around to it. Lived up to the hype! Meat was tender, well seasoned and piled on. Its been a a few years since I’ve ate a smoked meat sandwich in Montreal, but from what I can remember the difference is negligible. I’m adding this one to the rotation!

    I grew up in Montreal. Sumilicious is every bit as good as Schwartz’s, Lester’s, or The Main. Legit.

    i liked my sandwich at Fearless Meat on Kingston Rd north beaches, turns out they use Lester’s smoked meat. good deal though $15.99 combo. i have only been to Schwartz’ in MTL.

    I found it was a bit overrated. Though maybe i just don’t have enough experience around montreal smoked meat in general? I thought the sandwich on the whole was a bit dry, one-note, but substantial. It’s just meat, mustard, and rye bread.

    Maybe i should have gotten the reuban instead.

    It wasn’t worth cycling 70km for it, though the trip was pretty scenic.

    Sumi is great. My only issue is that the Schwartz flavour isn’t as potent. If Schwartz is 10/10 flavour, Sumi is like a 7/10.
