Decided to order this Organic Lone Star French Roast from HEB. See the cute little cowboy hat logo? This company, Cameron’s, is in Indianapolis. Cue eye rolling. I’d rather spend my dinero on Texas brands, oh mighty HEB. And no, I haven’t tried it yet.

So what, you are expecting HEB to only carry coffee from Texas companies?
Is it HEB’s fault that the company put a cowboy hat on its bag?
The marketing department gets another win.
You know that Texas doesn’t have an exclusive right to use a Cowboy hat, right?
What makes a coffee “rounded”? Is it the shape of the beans?
Yeah looks like the name and the doodle refer to the flavor – they, for example, also have a Jamaican Blend that has the Jamaican flag on it. And though the beans are processed in MN, they’re actually owned by a Colombian food packaging company! (None of this is “bad” btw)
I wonder if your HEB has a Texas-owned brand section? HEB central market sometimes does, or they’ll do a display of Women-Owned, Latinx-Owned, Black-Owned to highlight according to the current cultural observance.
You can always look for the Go Texan label.
I bought this coffee recently because it was a low-cost organic option. I’ve been drinking it for a few days and it’s just okay – I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. I *do* like it far better than café ole because it’s not greasy and artificially flavored 😅
