A canelé (French: [kan.le]) is a small French pastry flavored with rum and vanilla with a soft and tender custard center and a dark, thick caramelized crust. It takes the shape of a small, striated cylinder up to five centimeters in height with a depression at the top. A specialty of the Bordeaux region of France, today it is widely available in pâtisseries in France and abroad.

That’s a great price and they look really good. The only place around here (Southern California) that sells them charges around $3 USD

Those look so good, and at such an amazing price. You can sometimes get them here in DC, but they’re usually like $3/$4 a piece.

These are delicious, but come on, to go all the way to Paris and then get them at a chain like Paul’s rather than one of the thousand great bakeries 🙃

That is CHEAP. I just went to France 2 days ago where I bought one for 2,50€ 🥲 tho this is the price you usually get them for in Belgium too…

Or hear in Northern New England You can occasionally find them the father north you go towards the Quebec border. So yummy, especially available in Burlington Vermont if you don’t want to cross the border to get them

A local shop here in Canada makes them and they are heavenly. I don’t like sweets most of the time and I make an exception for these.

These are my absolute favorite after discovering them in Montreal years and years ago. I need to buy the mould’s so I can begin experimenting!
