Adios to Z’Tejas on W 6th. Stopped by for lunch on closing day. Out of chips and a few other things by 1pm. Saw the owner there he said they will throw down tonight to close it out.

God bless. Not entirely sure how this place survived at this location. The food was mediocre for 10 years and never looked super busy.

I’m shocked it was still open.

Not at all surprised, unfortunately. Also the multiple building spaces? MMP will probably gobble it up

When you possum up to the fact that your bartender has finger tattoos, an analog watch, and something.com glasses you both watch him close when he makes your drink and tip a minimum of 25%. The chicken fried steak at the Arboretum location on the patio was sublime. Good on them for turning the 6th location into condos or whatever the plan is.

I used to work there 15-20 years ago. They made the mistake of having an open bar Christmas party. We all had a great time participating in the worst decision they ever made. Fights, Crying, People crawling in the mud out back, blackouts galore.

Owners got a nice watch!
I’ve always liked this restaurant chain. Hope it survives.
