Motto Tea Cafe in Pasadena does them very well. Haven’t tried them at Sharp Tea in Little Tokyo but I think they make them too.

My main issue with the options I have seen and tried out here is that the options are excessively sweet. Like it’s toppings overload and even the few simple options can be a bit extra. In Japan, they are not super sweet and even the ones with toppings was not all super overloaded like it is here. If anyone can recommend a spot that is not a sugar bomb and all about the texture and jiggle of the soufflé I am all ears. I have tired Miss Cheese, it’s good but just wish there was an option that was not a sugar bomb.

  5. Is there anywhere in the OC area? These look fabulous!

Uncle Tetsu specializes in Japanese Cheesecake.. not sure if that is what you’re looking for?
There are locations in Arcadia, Torrance, Hacienda Heights, Costa Mesa, and Koreatown.

Moto Tea Cafe in San Gabriel. The wait is crazy at night, but that’s because it’s good. Worth the wait IMO.
