I personally found Maha’s to be very overrated. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was the honey cardamom latte

I don’t think Maha’s worth the wait for a sit-down — lines around the block. HOWEVER, ordering ahead is great — call ahead about 20-25 minutes, quick & easy pick-up.
Love their Egyptian Falafel (soft-boiled egg wrapped inside a falafel, a bit like a scotch egg), eggplant sandwich, and deep fried cauliflower sandwich.

Not me getting excited to see the word “maha” which means “stomach” in Finnish and thinking someone was opening a Finnish restaurant! 😂🤦♀️😂

probably their most eye-catching dish but definitely not what i’d recommend to people going there to try it. Maha’s is always fantastic though

Haven’t tried the chicken sandwich yet, but their foole/ful (fava bean stew) is incredible and my favourite thing there so far; scooping it with the pita bread is simple and good eats; it’s also great since you can pick custom toppings on top of the already excellent ful base (like sesame seeds, coriander/parsley, or clarified butter). 😋
Also tried the classic breakfast, the shrimp sandwich, home fries, and some of the coffees, and they were great too; the foole is my go-to though for the most part. Maha’s is great eats! 😇
Gotta try the falafel scotch runny egg, foole and sunny eggs (runny egg yolk 🤤) date grilled cheese/melt, chicken sandwich, fried cauliflower sandwich, and Max sandwich; as well as their other drinks a try next time. 😊
I’m perfectly find with waiting, since either a) I go super early, or b) I plan my visits on days where I’m explicitly not doing anything nor in any rush to be somewhere else. 😂
