Why don’t Canada have 5-star buffets served daily and offering Chinese delicacies, like those in Hong Kong hotels?

Does any country have buffets serving Chinese delicacies outside of China or Asian countries?
I just don’t think hotels here will have enough interested customers to justify an expensive 5 star Chinese delicacy buffet. They mainly cater to their guests, which given the typical hotel restaurant in Toronto, they want famous chef restaurants or fusion cuisine.
The typical Chinese buffet you’ll get in Canada is basically The Mandarin.

India has these 5 star buffets as well. The food is usually a mix of Indian as well as western. Does not include alcohol though but can be bought

Because you need turnover to run a buffet with expensive ingredients. Not everyone in Canada goes out for chinese for every expensive night out like it is in china.

Not attached to a hotel, but Dragon Pearl and Dragon Legend is this kind of buffet.

There are buffets in 5 star hotels but they’re not exclusively Asian. Why would you expect such a thing outside of Asia?

Because people in Canada would pay a premium for average food and give them 5 stars. There is no need for good quality food, let alone high quality buffets

I think I’ve gone to too many of these buffets when I travel in Asia that I actually started to prefer a smaller menu focused on quality. The buffet style sometimes seems quite wasteful and overwhelming with the number of choices.

I feel like buffet’s died out somewhere around 2006

Groceries are expensive enough already. If you want to go to a five star fancy buffet in Toronto, you’d be SOL.

Coz of the market my friend . Hong Kong hotels get primary demographic as ppl who love Chinese delicacies . In here Toronto the mixing pot , you have ppl who will go for blt, eggs along with different cuisines with Chinese delicacies being one of them . But the market potential for such cuisine in Toronto is not strong enough to invest high amount ( we talking 5 stars) hence you don’t see much of them , however a small shop with those delicacies will do just fine imo

This is a very specific question lol

Why doesn’t Hong Kong have a Kelsey’s Roadhouse or an Earl’s in every Cineplex parking lot like Canada does?

Not enough market? Because it’s Canada and not Hong Kong?

This question is unintelligent, and somewhat hilarious.
