All of that is included? That’s a great deal.

Were the scones served with clotted cream? I can’t quite tell from the picture.

Thanks for posting! I love afternoon tea.

I may be uncouth but what is the allure of paying $45pp for this? I’m not even gonna touch on the places that charge $65-$100+pp for high tea. It smacks of pretentiousness to me. Is it really worth it?

First, thanks OP calling it correctly: ‘afternoon tea’. Seems the hotel can’t, which is a sign.

Besides the fact they think they can call that assortment ‘high tea’, ew, teabags. Also, china or silverware only, if you please.

And Drake laughs all the way to the bank…

This is not your King Edward or Four Seasons Tea…looks more delicious.

45 per person or 90 total plus tax and tips for this? Steal of a deal? Lmao. Sounds kinda like a shill for this place. For that money you can get a nice steak dinner or AYCE Japanese dinner that’s 10x more satisfying. Or even better, get dim sum instead which is a 10x tastier and costs like only $20 per person to get a full meal.

OP needs to take a break from reddit posting their dinner last night in 8 different subs.

  9. I’m partial to Orange Pekoe so if they have that I’ll go for sure.

    $45 +tax + tips = $60+ for a tea meal @ person !
In inflated times like these …. i have to feed my whole family. Cobs bakeries or even cheaper fr Costco’s should give similar joy … i will pass.
Very tempting, but i can’t be selfish going myself and leaving out my family.

Is this satire? I survive on $45 a week on groceries. F U Drake Hotel!

Seems a bit pricey for the location, if it was at Casa loma for that price it would be worth it.

Don’t even talk to me unless it’s all you can eat lol 😛

This thread is turning into what a lot of threads in toronto related subreddits devolve to. People who are struggling are angry anyone would spend more than $1 on their own entertainment. The “this is a horrible deal because I can get good food elsewhere cheaper” crowd.

Let OP share their experience without being so negative.

Wait, Drake has a hotel? Where is that in Toronto? Wtf 45$ lol

people here are fucking insufferable. Sure it’s not the same as high tea at the Shangri-La or St. Regis, but high tea was never meant to be affordable.

This is called “high tea and hi tops” so it’s for a younger crowd. It’s the Drake hotel after all, and no it’s not Drake’s hotel ffs.

and if you’re so broke you can’t afford this, that’s fine, no need to shit on others who can afford or do enjoy this

nobody gives a fuck what you can or can’t afford…

If you’re in Toronto for affordable living, you’re playing life on hard mode.
