Dovetail is pretty good if you like fancy, thin crust pizza. I had the White with shrimp added. Very tasty, but the gluten free crust was very crispy. But that’s better than the alternative of soggy, which is more common with GF. My wife had the regular crust, and said it was good, but her pepperoni needed more sauce. But still, it’s probably my favorite in Austin, next to Via 313. Very different pies, for different moods.

I hate how they made Pedroso’s sound overhyped, which: STRONG disagree. There is no hype capable of capturing the excitement I feel when I’m walking up and *that scent* hits me.

Seems like the trend over the years is to scrimp on sauce. If you have the temerity to ask for extra sauce, they register their insult by drowning it in sauce. Just my limited experience.

No way…on this sub we all long for the days of mangia and Austin’s pizza being the only game in town

We went to the Pinthouse on Burnet for lunch today, and I hadn’t been in a long time. It seemed like the recipe had changed somehow, but I couldn’t quite articulate the difference between the Pinthouse pizza I remembered and the one I had today. Both were good, but does anyone know how exactly they changed the recipe?

Love supreme is over 2 years old, side eye pies is over 1 year old. Does Austin chronicle just take the same 5 places and keep calling them new? This is not a “new” list. Austin chronicle food section must have just woken up from a coma or something.

An actually new spot that slams: Allday on West 35th.

Desano is pretty much our go to place. It is a chain but you can taste the effort.
