This tracks except but where can you get a taco in west Austin? I consider west Austin to be from the lake to 2222. NW hills has some decent taco trucks and restaurants. If you go NW Austin we have some seriously really good Mexican restaurants. North Austin is the absolute best part of the city to get both tacos and Mexican food in general overall. To add, east Austin use to be the shit. I went to school for 5 years on the east side back before it started catering to rich transplants and even though there are still some leftover places, this picture tracks. Look at the menus (and restaurants) from east 2nd to 10th and you get a picture of how bougie and gentrified the east side has become. Never thought a $400 a night hotel would ever open a block from Martin Jr. High. Holy f#$$k.

I see east is expensive and am thinking OP meant East 5th, which is still downtown. Most downtown stuff is overpriced af.
