Where would you go for a once-in-a-lifetime 30th wedding anniversary dinner in Los Angeles? I’m looking for an experience and ambiance along with great food. We don’t know the area very well having lived here only since 2020.
What I’m looking for is something like [The Herbfarm](https://www.theherbfarm.com/) which we enjoyed greatly in the Seattle area. They did a dining experience. One menu per month, one seating per day. 9 course meal, wine pairings included, $300 – $400 per person depending on menu. The experience lasts about 4 hours. The chefs are introduced, the cooking area is visible, and so on.
TIA for any suggestions of similar places. Or feel free to recommend where you’d go for your 30th!

Le Comptoir is a pretty incredible experience, and one of the more unique ones in Los Angeles. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re after (its a little different from the Herbfarm from what im reading), but it’s an 8-course tasting menu at a small bar (10 or so tops per seating?), and it overlooks the kitchen so you get to talk to the chefs all throughout (and they serve it to you directly). Amazing service, Chef Gary Menes is an awesome guy on top of an incredible chef, and my goodness the food is good. Meal takes a few hours, so not quite the longer event you may be looking for but it’s a really nice journey.
Would highly recommend adding on the wine pairing, and supplemental dishes, and 100% let them know at the start you want coffee at the end (it takes them something like 20 minutes to make).
If you haven’t been there yet, Providence is worth a wine paired visit. Not quite as extravagant, price wise. I guess you could have all the add ons?
Edit: and I was just reading here maybe yesterday about bazaar by Jose Andres. That place is a fun night out. Get extra jamon and caviar treats and several cocktails. And congratulations of course!
Providence
This is slightly different, but I love the roof at the Waldorf Astoria (Rooftop by JG) for a decadent brunch. I wouldn’t do it in place of dinner, but it’s a good addition to a celebratory weekend.
