Looks absolutely stuffed, but I judge by the bread and ratio. Looks good though OP

I’ve been meaning to try this place!

Tucci’s is so yummy. Hope you enjoyed!!

This place is really good and offers a different take. It’s a nice change.

They’re $20 for a full sub. They’re one of the tastiest sandwiches I’ve had in Austin, but they aren’t worth $20.

I always feel like Tucci’s is the more punk version of Thundercloud… They also do all Boar’s Head meats, so everything I have had there has been delicious.

Love Tuccis!

Tried this place once to see if I could get a proper Italian hoagie down here. Ingredient quality is good but tastes nothing like a traditional Italian hoagie, the recipe is completely different, wonder why they decided to do that.

Subs like this look cool and all but they are completely a mess to try and eat. You smush it down and the first bite sends half the ingredients out the back of the sandwich.

Tucci’s! Love those guys, love the subs.

I love this sandwich!!

Grew up going to Tucci’s all the time and still go when I can! Always loved it. If the southwest location’s hours weren’t so terrible we would go way more often

I gotta go to this place

Just had one yesterday. They do a great job. It’s them and homeslice for us. Hard to justify $26 for a large gourmet and a coke but for a once in a while treat it’s pretty good. And a half isn’t enough for one person and the full size is just a bit too much… forces me to get the full and eat the whole thing
Edit- sometimes I find the guys working there to be a bit rough and almost rude on the phone, but alas, my expectations for service in this town have really fallen over the years. And the default 25% tip can rock you if you’re not paying attention.
Edit 2- they use new world bakery bread (same as thundercloud fyi) but it’s tuccis recipe and the only par bake it at NWB. Tuccis bakes it the rest of the way so they get crumb to it. I know because I know 🙂

That looks pretty close to a regular Italian, except for the weird bread, the Mayo?!?!?!, and what seems to be a disturbing lack of Capicola. But why is it called a gourmet? Does it have gold flakes or something g?

Eat it or don’t. Tuccis is legit to the max

On the other side of the city is Hoody’s sub which are equally as good and almost identical. Mr. Hoody started Delaware subs with a partner in the 80s and left Delaware because he didn’t like his partner’s plans to franchise and cheapen it which is exactly what happened. A few sub places were born from that franchising tafter the franchise owners were able to get out of the contract. Tucci’s is one of them. Another which I forget the name went out of business and Tucci’s bought the location. (William Cannon) The last was Capital City Subs which was at the original location on Medical Parkway. Apperently stoner sandwich artists make bad owners. They expanded to Westlake and went out business within a year. It’s Otherside Deli now.
Anyways, Tucci’s and Hoody’s rock depending on what part of town. I’m biased and think Hoody’s is better but that’s because it has the original Delaware menu and I grew up on it. It’s also considerably cheaper than Tucci’s with the same quality. (Boar’s Head, etc.) Tucci’s is close to the original menu but that owner did make some small changes.

I always went there for the philly steak sandwich.

I want to add for you personally, OP, I love good composition in a photo. You should be a food photographer. I pass Tucci’s about once a month and kick myself for not stopping in more. I’m going to change that next time.
