Little Deli – Briarcliff Blvd
A Northeast style deli and pizzeria focusing on New Jersey Pizza. They hand toss their pies and bake them on two-inch stone hearths. No idea what a hearth is or how it helps make pizza good, but I was intrigued.
Pictured is: The #7- pepperoni, roasted garlic and cherub tomatoes.
For me the protagonista dello spettacolo (stars of the show) was a noteworthy balance of cheese to sauce to grease. Fresh grape tomatoes and minced garlic on a classic pep & cheese is a stroke of genius.
The uh oh spagettios was the crust. Besides the bottom of the pizza which had an even cook on the bottom that lends a nice tap or crunch, like tapping on a hollow bathroom door to creep out your roommate or partner. Unfortunately the rest of the dough tastes slightly under cooked to me. So what lowered the score of this pie by a full pepperoni, maybe even a pepperoni and a half was the dry barren wasteland that was the crust. Doughy, yet hard and chewy. I like crust in my bites and that was quickly 86’d.
In conclusion, great homage to Jersey pies. Terrific sauce with hints of oregano, basil and sage. Creative use of classic ingredients. Would eat again, then again in the middle of the night, cold outta the fridge.

Pros: good thick puffy crust, pretty much NY style. I’d destroy it by myself.
Cons: not really round—did you toss it in the back seat of a car?? Toppings are sloppy, clumps of garlic, areas of pepperoni, grape tomatoes almost non-existen in the bottom left portion. Massive charred bubble is a turnoff. That looks like fast food pepperoni. The cheese looks uneven.
Have this pie ready for me in 20 mins so I can make it disappear into my mouth hole.

Why Briarcliff instead of Woodrow? I’ve been to this location once and never went back. Try Woodrow.
