Cabbage harvest! I planted these a bit too late in the season but I’m so happy with my first ever cabbage ball. Any recommendations on what to do with them?(banana for scale)
Temperature are warming up so I got a last minute harvest in!

As for the cabbage, I like to put some in soups and salads.
As for the banana, give it a few more days and that banana would make a good banana bread, if you got one or two more.

Ever had coleslaw made from a freshly picked cabbage? If not then try it, it’ll be the best coleslaw you ever had

Cut into julienne/strips and cook down. Add some red wine vinegar and brown sugar and salt and a little bit of pepper. Makes a nice side.

If you have excess cabbage try you hang at pickling some makes great in a halloumi wrap or on burgers or salads plus will keep for a good while

Ohhh they’re the best for a crunchy salad!
– finely cut your cabbage into strips like you would for sauerkraut or coleslaw – add 1% salt by weight and knead the cabbage to distribute & soften – add some olive oil, sesame oil – add chili powder/flakes & pepper – add toasted sesame & pumpkin seeds – add feta cheese & minced dates – let sit for at least an hour to soak through
