Mom’s Special Cooking is run by a Burmese lady. Located on 2307 West Parmer Lane. She serves other asian food but has Burmese food as specials and plan to offer more. She just opened for about 3-4 weeks. I ordered Malar Noodles, chicken 65 and a stir fry I didn’t catch the name. Check out her FB page for specials. For today Saturday she has a Shan Noodle special. Her Malar noodles was a little overcooked. Chicken 65 is good.

Glad to see this place, but there is nothing calling to me on that menu. I love Burmese fried crispy type snacks, the endless fantastic salads (like famous fermented tea leaf salad), and the soupy stewy dishes, especially. I would love to see more of that on the menu.
We’ve had a Burmese grocery store for a long time, and I know there is a small Burmese community here, so I was wondering when we’d get a Burmese eatery of some sort.

There’s a vegan Burmese place in Portland that I stop by when there for work and it’s one of my most favorite places in the world.
