What do you think about Keith Lee saying he couldn’t find any good food in LA? I used to really take his recommendations seriously until he started raving about Chipotle and now this.

Who? Why does his opinion matter?

I mean…he’s right? Like getting amazing food in LA is sort of hit or miss unless you really know where to look/are a foodie. We have a lot of AMAZING looking spots that are just straight up ass. Plus Keith is not a hella fancy dude, a lot of good spots are kinda fancy. To find a good taco spot is something special but it’s really a iykyk kinda deal around here. On top of that we have 1500 “Californian” restaurants with the same menu that is derivative and boring and tastes the same anywhere.

He’s a tourist and LA has so many amazing spots, but not all centrally located unlike Vegas where he lives. Appreciating LA takes some time, driving, exploration, and maybe help from a local. I will also say that LA isn’t as good at consistency as much as some other metropolitan places. I have favorite LA restaurants that will vary greatly in quality from different visits, versus times I’ve been to NYC/Chicago and had the same great meals every time.

I do enjoy him and his content but his opinion on the LA food scene is such bullshit lol
