Looks amazing! Can’t wait to get over there to try the new menu

Half portion size and a full fuck given, this could looked as good as it probably tastes.

Do they still have the same burger. I went there a long while back and the burger was so good.

  4. I sometimes get the exact same beef quality ravioli from Chef Boyardee and and put Parmesan on top. The broccolini is a little fancy, but if you got this under $8, big win for you! I can imagine a place in Santa Monica putting it at $12 based on the apparent size though. Yummy 11am brunch dish though!

  5. If they have just cheese ravioli ill def try it.

I was really excited to try Estrano’s stuff but found it underwhelming and each dish was weirdly sweet?

    – Parker roll – this was GLAZED in miso honey and ate more like a cinnamon roll. Not a great app
    – Beef/broccoli – the brown butter overpowered everything with its sweetness. Broccolini was a good counterpoint but not enough of it
    – Honey walnut shrimp – somehow this was not overwhelmingly sweet. The horchata panna cotta went surprisingly well with the shrimp
    – Whole fish – if I only got this fish I would’ve thought Poltergeist was amazing. Ton of flavor and spices. I really enjoyed the pickled (?) pomegranate in the side salad.

Service-wise, our server was friendly, so we didn’t get the condescending experience others are talking about.

Overall, the menu has some great concepts but suffers from a lack of balance. I’d still be interested in seeing more from them though.

This was one of the single grossest dishes I’ve eaten in years. And not the worst thing we ate there.

The pasta was thick and not even cooked to al dente. The meat inside was fine I guess. What ruined it all was the gloopy hoisin sauce – at least that’s what the very nice waitress called it – that was so cloyingly sweet it hurt my teeth. The broccoli rabe was also not even al dente and was unseasoned, while the cheese just made the whole thing taste like vomit.

I liked the idea of doing a twist on Chinese broccoli beef (which is a sweet and salty stir fry with oyster sauce), but this rendition was just wrong on every level. We took one bite and left it. It was like eating candied ravioli.

OH, and our meal of four dishes took 2.25 hours.

The caesar salad is incredible though. They also have something that they call mapo tofu that just isn’t.

I don’t think the team here has the chops to be executing conceptual dishes at this level. They need more experience or should go back to the pasta in the alley, because this is a huge disappointment.
