Heard that, they’ve been my go-to for fried pickles for years now. I do think they’ve been slightly inconsistent since the pandemic, but overall still super solid. I also really enjoy the fried pickles from the Dough squad truck, but mainly because of the pimento cheese dip and not so much the pickles themselves.
Glad to see Pour House getting some love. Hoping it can return to its former glory one day. Their Sunday brunches used to go hard as fuck.

I will have to confirm this

I’m constantly chasing my first ever fried pickle experience from ~20 years ago, and I’ve never seen it replicated. The first ones I had were made with cornichon… those tiny baby dick pickles… with a honey mustard sauce. They were phenomenal. I feel like it is very rare, if ever, to see the cornichon as the star of a fried pickle dish, and it’s unfortunate. The most variety I’ve seen outside of the sliced chip version is giant spears at Alamo Drafthouse which are (were?) a travesty.

They are pretty delicious!

I’m not a fan of the bottle cap fried pickles but would give them a try. Pluckers has some delicious fried pickle spears

I get fried pickles from a bar and grill in south Austin and they are really good and they look exactly like OPs picture. I asked the server if they were made in house or frozen. She said, “frozen”. I’m guessing they come from Sysco

Man, the fried pickles they had over at Big Daddy’s when they were around were perfection. Their burgers were nothing special, but damn those pickles were worth the visit alone.

Many fond memories of getting plastered there. Great food and good bar

UPDATE: they’ve changed their menu slightly & the fried pickles are now just incredibly average 😔
