I’m a moderator of r/fermentation and study fermentation at UCLA. I’m hosting community meetups for local fermentation foodies to get together and nerd out! We’ll be at Three Weavers this Monday night!

Can’t do Monday, and Three Weavers is a hike, but when my black and yellow lentil miso is finished I might roll up with a jar.

What if I’m a plebeian and know nothing of fermentation could I join?

This is so fun! Weeknights are tough because I have kids, but I will be there in spirit!

New to fermenting and won’t make it this week but thank you for getting this on my radar!

  6. Omg. I told someone recently I want to get into pickle-making and pickling food as a hobby and got weird looks. There are others?!

Do you guys include people who ferment kombucha?

My wife just started to make kimchi. Please keep us posted on future events!

This is a trek for me as a non-driver in Silverlake, but I’d love to come out to a meet up closer to home! I could bring some spicy mustard greens or maybe green pea and sweet potato miso or even some amazake when I get my koji going again. Oh, or I could horrify half the room with my komDewcha lol. I like to think the Mt. Dew has been transmuted, but I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
