50 Tim Horton’s in town? This seems like something we don’t need with so many better local spots.

As stated in the /r/austin thread, I would have been excited for this 20 years ago.
wait, why does it say 50 in front. WHAT THE HECK, 50 in one city, no way that will ever happen. But whoever thought that is a good idea is nuts.

I avoid this place when in Canada so I guess I’ll avoid it here too

Decades ago, they baked fresh food in each shop, and you could smell a Tim Hortons from half a block away.
Fast forward to the present: this article is basically the same as getting pumped up for Dunkin Donuts.

Do we even have 50 Starbucks?

Visited Toronto a year ago. Every local to me: “Tim Hortons has gone way downhill, don’t bother”

Legal question for Austin Americans – How do I kill the 40-50 Tim Horton’s that run into our city limits within 3-5 months while my small kids play?

Their breakfast sandwiches are better than our other fast food options afaik.

1 or 2 would be cool, not 50!

I can see this being a thing in like Manor, Kyle and Georgetown areas or Round Rock which has like a bazillion chains

Is that whole thing about McDonald’s buying their coffee roasters out from under Tim Hortons true?

I mean, I would happily take them replacing every Dunkin’ Donuts in the country, but they definitely aren’t what they used to be. Given “greater metro area” I could see 10-15 being a more reasonable target, based on how many Starbucks there are.
Or however many Dunkin’ Donuts there are in Austin.

As a Canadian living in Austin – please do not patronize this franchise and let them go away. There are other comments in here stating they used to be better when things were made in store and this is all true. The quality is terrible and the coffee is horrible.

I would personally enjoy having a drive-through coffee place close to me (I would prefer not being trapped in car culture but that’s a different issue). I used to live in a healthily Hortoned place though, and am really not impressed. I prefer Dunkin when it comes to the chains.

Meanwhile, I just want Jim’s to be 24hrs again 😢

Look, I’m excited to get a location, but this is such overkill.
