enchiladas rancheras con arroz y frijoles

(underneath the slightly-crusty top layer, the refried beans *were* mashed!!! my favorite.)

So that car accident thing is repaired, thats good.

Looks legit. You ever ask for a side of chopped onions and cilantro and dump that on top?

I don’t get the hype behind this place. It’s ok.

Everything there is really decent. Order take out to skip the wait.

We haven’t been able to go as often as we would like because their waiting/bar situation is no good and I don’t want to stand around waiting for an hour with three kids and no alcohol. Miss the staff.

Been going to y mas for 20 years. Would be my last supper.

The move is cheese enchiladas topped with steak fajita.

So so good and the margs are solid gold 🥇

There are hot plates and then there are Enchiladas Y Mas hot plates. One time we watched a #5 bubble for almost a full minute.

Wait, wait, wait. I thought they closed?! I don’t go over to that area as often anymore so I hadn’t realized it was open again! I’ve lived in Austin for 14 years now and still haven’t tried it but this plate looks so good, so now I must go ASAP!

Went multiple times when I lived up north. Was totally meh. Heard the original location was definitely better

Dang! Looks great. What places are comparable in S. Austin? I like Habaneros a lot. Sometimes we go to El Mercato.

  12. This place has my favorite chicken fajitas. Unlike other places, they don’t cook the chicken as whole breasts with slicing after the fact, so you get the browning and seasoning all over.

Disclaimer: I have not been back since the new owners took over

I love cheese enchiladas but I don’t love Y Mas. Tried them and was not impressed at all. My go-to in town is Vivo (the margs hit hard too). Honorable mention for non-cheese enchiladas is the short rib enchis at El Dorado Cafe.

Really, I’m sure this is delicious, but my instant thought was, “That’s several hours on the toilet.’

Not a huge Tex-Mex guy but this place… I like this place

Dart Bowl’s roadhouse enchiladas gave Y Mas a run for its money, or vice versa if you will (mileage varies). RIP Dart.

am i missing something here? I went here today for lunch because of this post and was super disappointed. Ordered a beef enchilada plate and crispy tacos. the enchilada plate was ok, mostly tasted the cheese. Beef was unseasoned and there wasn’t much flavor other than queso. The Crispy tacos were really bad, like worse than taco bell bad. Lots of ground beef but no flavor.
