I love this recipe but have only pan fried them. I’d love to try grilling them for a small dinner party (one vegetarian guest) because it seems easier than managing multiple frying pans. However, I’m a little concerned they won’t hold together & might crumble through grill grates. Also wonder if I’ll miss out on the crispiness from the pan? Does anyone have experience/tips?

    If you watch his YouTube on making these, he grills them instead of pan frying.

    Yeah you can grill them! I’ve done them both ways, and honestly feel like pan frying is better and easier. In my experience your concern is correct and they don’t hold together as well being grilled, and definitely don’t crisp up in the same way. The “grilled” flavor is a nice touch, but I don’t think it outweighs the structural integrity. In all fairness though, I usually cook a few and freeze the rest for later and am not making them for a crowd, so maybe it would be easier for you to grill them. Definitely test it out first and see how you feel about it.
